AAA Editor Notes
Irving Nature Park is off Hwy. 1 exit 119B (Catherwood), .5 km (.3 mi.) s. to Sand Cove Rd., then 3 km (1.9 mi.) e. to 1379 Sand Cove Rd. On a peninsula that extends into the Bay of Fundy, this 243-hectare (600-acre) protected ecosystem encompasses forest, tidal pool and bog habitats, mud flats and a barrier beach. A boardwalk that extends into a salt marsh is an ideal vantage point for bird-watching; some 250 migratory species have been recorded in the area.

A road encircles the park, and eight trails enable visitors to explore on foot or bicycle. An observation tower provides panoramic views. The Children's Forest has a playground and two cedar maze hedges. An information kiosk is beyond Saints Rest Beach. Park staff members conduct free guided tours.

Picnicking is permitted.
