New Brunswick Museum is uptown at 1 Market Sq. Canada's oldest museum presents the natural, industrial and cultural history of the province. Evidence of the area's geological history is seen in the Our Changing Earth gallery; a mastodon skeleton and giant scorpion fossils are among the highlights. The Hall of Great Whales showcases skeletons and full-scale models of species such as the North Atlantic Right whale.

Visitors also can view an impressive collection of local and international fine and decorative arts, learn about New Brunswick's shipbuilding heritage and participate in hands-on activities. Historical records can be accessed at the Archives & Research Library at 277 Douglas Ave.
