Mordecai Historic Park is n. via Person St. to 1 Mimosa St. On the grounds is the 1785 plantation house once occupied by the Lane and Mordecai families. The house features original furnishings, portraits and books. A separate kitchen was built in 1842. Other structures in the park include the relocated 1795 house in which Andrew Johnson, the 17th president of the United States, was born; an 1810 law office; and the 1847 St. Mark's Chapel. Trolley tours of historic Raleigh depart from the park on Saturdays.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
