Central Park is just n.e. at 1101 Niobrara St. The approximately 100-acre park is well-landscaped with a wide assortment of trees, bushes, flowers and gardens. Paved walkways encourage visitors to enjoy the surroundings. The Alliance Botanical Gardens, within the park adjacent to the Sallows Military Museum, is a conservatory featuring a variety of plantings.
A fountain with colored lights, constructed by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and the city's park department in 1935, is the source of an evening light show.
