Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is s. off I-80 exit 454 (13th St.) following signs to 3701 S. 10th St. The 130-acre zoo is home to such rare and endangered species as white tigers, snow leopards, Western lowland gorillas, white rhinos and sun bears.

Exhibits include the rainforest environment of the Lied Jungle and the Desert Dome, one of the world's largest indoor deserts. Apes roam free in the Hubbard Gorilla Valley, and the Hubbard Orangutan Forest features indoor and outdoor viewing areas. Nocturnal animals dwell within the Kingdoms of the Night, which features a dry bat cave, an indoor swamp, a eucalyptus forest, a canyon area, a wet cave and an African diorama. Expedition Madagascar takes visitors through an area of the world known for its unique animal and plant species, including lemurs.

At the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium a 70-foot glass tunnel offers underwater views of sharks and other ocean dwellers. The Butterfly and Insect Pavilion has a chrysalis hatching room and insect habitats. The Skyfari aerial sky tram offers a tree-top view of the aquarium. Other highlights include steam train and tram rides, a carousel, a cat complex, an African veldt area, a free-flight aviary, a polar bear exhibit, a children's petting zoo and films shown on the large screen at the Lozier IMAX Theater.
