The Mormon Trail Center at Historic Winter Quarters and Pioneer Cemetery, off I-680 exit 13 to 3215 State St., is on the site of the Winter Quarters, a temporary community visited by some 4,000 Mormon pioneers bound for the Rocky Mountains. Visitor center exhibits include maps, models, a log cabin, a covered wagon, a handcart and ship bunks. A guided tour and video presentation depict the Mormon migration 1846-90. A quilt exhibit is displayed during October.
Across the street is the white granite Mormon Temple and the Winter Quarters Cemetery.
