Churchill County Museum and Archives, 1050 S. Maine St., features an extensive collection of Western Americana focusing on the history of Churchill County and the Lahontan Valley. There are displays of memorabilia associated with the Emigrant Trail and the transcontinental telegraph, artifacts from Nevada Native American tribes and a re-created, early 20th-century novelty store.
Also on display is a notable collection of rocks, minerals and gemstones. An exhibit about the Carson Desert includes a diorama. Guided tours to nearby Hidden Cave are offered.
