AAA Editor Notes
Sparks Museum & Cultural Center, 814 Victorian Ave., features memorabilia and displays depicting the history of Sparks and the surrounding Sierra Nevada region. Particular emphasis is placed on railroad history since the city owes its existence to the Central Pacific Railroad, whose booming industry fueled the town's economy until the mid-20th century. Other exhibits focus on the region's Native American, pioneer, mining and ranching heritage. Temporary exhibits and art shows by regional artists are offered.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
