Fort at No. 4 Open Air Museum is on SR 11 (Springfield Rd.), .5 mi. e. of I-91 exit 7. This reconstruction of the 1744 fortified village of Plantation No. 4, now Charlestown, follows detailed drawings made in 1746 and includes the Great Chamber, stockade, watchtower, two barns and 12 other buildings. Furnishings and demonstrations depict 18th-century life. Events include Colonial musters, reenactments and Native American lifeways.

Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
