AAA Editor Notes
Woodman Museum, 182-190 Central Ave., consists of four display buildings. The oldest is the hand-hewn 1675 William Damm Garrison House, with Early American utensils, tools, clothing and furniture. The 1818 Woodman House has a Civil War room, military collections, Native American artifacts, and exhibits about natural history and science.

Abolitionist Sen. John P. Hale lived in the 1813 Hale House, which features Hale family memorabilia and exhibits showcasing local history. The 1825 Keefe House and carriage barn houses rotating exhibits. Among the most notable items displayed in these homes are a saddle used by Abraham Lincoln and a rare Napoleon cannon from the American Civil War.
