Classic. In the spirit of classic New York, this South Brooklyn mainstay delivers a first-class traditional experience with food and service which is warmly engaging in style and solid in substance. Drawing upon an excellent variety of popular favorites, there are fresh market fish, homemade pastas, both vegetarian, and meat dishes, including some exceptional veal. The restaurant produces their own bottled marinara sauces on the premises which they sell to specialty retail stores across the country. Family owned for over sixty years, there is live piano music on most nights and the interiors include many of the fixtures and fittings from when the restaurant first opened in 1964. The basement lounge features some of the original wooden seats from the original Yankee Stadium and New York’s most visible politicians and powerbrokers are regulars.
