Van Cortlandt Manor is off US 9 at 525 S. Riverside Ave. This restored 18th-century Dutch-English manor house on 20 acres of what was originally an 86,000-acre estate shows the lifestyle of a patriotic family just after the American Revolution. Family portraits, furniture, silver and porcelains are exhibited. Costumed interpreters demonstrate 18th-century craft skills. The restored Ferry House and Ferry House Kitchen at the east end supplied food and lodging to travelers on the Albany Post Road.
