Known as The Mark Twain previously, generations of Queens residents know this place like a second-home. Renovated now, happily it survives.
AAA Inspector Notes
Classic. Just off the main highway in the densely populated urban stretch between LaGuardia Airport and Route 25A, this is one of the best dining options for a convenient food pit stop before heading to the airport. Renovated in 2011 from a classic diner, this handsome, modern, family-owned and -operated eatery provides efficient service and a renewed dining experience. Enjoy the freshly prepared daily specials. The previous restaurant, which long occupied the spot, was the Mark Twain Diner, a bona fide mid-20th-century Queens casual dining landmark. It was the prime meeting place in the area for generations of politicians, business people and locals before falling into disrepair and subsequently closing. Convenient and popular as ever, the new updated incarnation is a very welcome step forward in all respects.
