Classic. A New York landmark since 1927, Gallagher's displays its trademark dry-aged Prime beef at the entrance. All the years melt away as you enter a wood-paneled front room dominated by a spectacular carved wooden bar ringed by photos of the truly famous. The menu features all the great standards. But the décor has some sizzle—dining areas sport firehouse red leather banquettes to keep things vibrant. Waiters and hosts are sharp and wonderfully cosmopolitan in their confident style and smart demeanor.
