To me this is as close as Brooklyn gets to Austin, Texas. Laid back and cool, but with great pizza, too.
AAA Inspector Notes
This humble place is a little out of the way, a little hard to find and pretty shabby looking. Those who go will be rewarded with excellent food made from the freshest local ingredients, some of which are grown on site. The signature pizza is among the best in Brooklyn, but there are other great items on the ever-changing menu, including sandwiches at lunch and creative dinner entrées with pasta, fresh fish and meats. The restaurant is a big promoter of the slow-food movement and the Heritage Radio Network broadcasts over the Internet from an on-site, re-purposed shipping container that has a window looking out into the dining room. The radio network is focused on the fresh food community and related issues.
