New York Hall of Science, 111th St. and 49th Ave. in Flushing Meadows Corona Park , is a hands-on science and technology center. Many of the exhibits are geared toward making scientific processes understandable for children. The facility's cathedral-like Great Hall features curving, 100-foot-tall stained glass walls that wowed visitors when the hall first opened for the 1964-65 World's Fair.

The Great Hall currently houses Connected Worlds, an animated digital exhibit displayed on giant interactive screens that teaches children about ecosystems and their interdependence. The center also has a 3-D movie theater, a multimedia library, an outdoor science playground, a makerspace workshop, an engineering activity area, Rocket Park Mini Golf, science demonstrations and exhibits on sports, light and math.

Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
