AAA Inspector Notes
Near the ferry and the PATH train to Manhattan, this hotel features extraordinary views. Rooms are large and modern, with cooking facilities. The rooftop restaurant is a destination all on its own. The former home of the historic First National City Bank, renovations and construction brought back to life this Roaring Twenties structure to become a showcase for present-day design. One enters the hotel grandly from the Italianate marble-clad lobby of the old bank, which features museum-worthy ornamental metal work. Most of the beautiful original details are intact. Just outside the door is a light rail stop that connects to other Hudson River waterfront towns like Hoboken and Newport.
