Oconaluftee Indian Village, 2.5 mi. n. off US 441N at 218 Drama Rd., is a re-creation of a 1750s Cherokee community, where Native Americans demonstrate how to fashion baskets, pottery, canoes, arrows and blowguns. Also of interest are a preserved seven-sided council house as well as huts and cabins containing articles used more than 200 years ago.

The Cherokee Botanical Trail is on the grounds. Special programs are available.
