The General William C. Lee Airborne Museum

The General William C. Lee Airborne Museum, 209 W. Divine St., is in the former house of Gen. Lee. Known as the “Father of the Airborne,” Lee was assigned by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to organize the development of Army airborne units. His efforts led to the establishment of the Airborne Command and earned him the Distinguished Service Medal. Exhibits include World War II memorabilia and historical documents.
