AAA Editor Notes
Historic Stagville is off I-85 exit 177, 1.4 mi. n. on Roxboro Rd., then 6.8 mi. e. to 5828 Old Oxford Hwy. This site represents the remnants of one of the South's largest antebellum plantations, owned by the Bennehan-Cameron families. Stagville's furnished main house, slave quarters and large barn are all that remain of the former estate. Daily life, particularly as it relates to the African American community, is highlighted with exhibits and a 10-minute slide presentation.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
