Museum of Life and Science is at 433 Murray Ave. Less than 5 miles from downtown Durham, encompassing 84 acres, this interactive science park includes a two-story science center with one of the largest butterfly conservatories on the East Coast. Beautifully landscaped outdoor exhibits are safe havens for rescued black bears, lemurs and endangered red wolves. Other attractions include more than 60 species of live animals, the Dinosaur Trail, Ellerbe Creek Railway, Into the Mist and treehouses in Hideaway Woods.
