Blue Ridge Mountain Frescoes

Blue Ridge Mountain Frescoes are at Milepost 259 in Glendale Springs, N.C., 3 mi. n. of the parkway's jct. with SR 16, and in West Jefferson, N.C., following signs from jct. US 221 Bus. Rte. and SR 194. North Carolina artist Benjamin F. Long painted these religious artworks in two Episcopal churches: Holy Trinity in Glendale Springs and St. Mary's in West Jefferson. Prerecorded narratives describe their history. The church frescoes, along with Long's work in six other North Carolina cities, comprise the Benjamin F. Long Fresco Trail.
