Greensboro History Museum, 130 Summit Ave., traces the development of Greensboro and Guilford County from early settlement to present-day industry. Voices of a City features exhibits about Native Americans and the Civil Rights Movement.

A reconstructed 19th-century Greensboro village displays a drugstore, schoolhouse, fire station, silent movie theater and a telephone switchboard. Also on the grounds is the First Presbyterian Church cemetery, the Francis McNairy House and the Isley House. A military history collection showcases more than 150 Confederate firearms.
