Miksch Gardens and House, part of the Old Salem Museums & Gardens complex on S. Main St. just n. of Salem Sq., was built in 1771 by Matthew Miksch. An enterprising man, Miksch sold tobacco, candles and gingerbread. Behind the house is a log shed where seasonal activities often are demonstrated.
