Annapolis Royal Tidal Generating Station

Annapolis Royal Tidal Generating Station is at 236 Prince Albert Rd. on the causeway 1 km (.6 mi.) e. on Hwy. 1. The station, which opened in 1984, is the first and only modern tidal power plant in North America and one of only three in the world. It produces electricity by harnessing the tidal waters of the Bay of Fundy. An interpretive center features audiovisual presentations, a miniature model and two enclosed observation decks.
