Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21
AAA Editor Notes
Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is at 1055 Marginal Rd., just n. of Barrington St. The historic site tells the stories of 1.5 million immigrants, including war brides, displaced people and evacuee children as well as Canadian military service personnel who passed through its doors 1928-71.

Canada’s last remaining ocean immigration shed, Pier 21 delivers a dramatic exploration of a critical part of Canada’s heritage through interactive exhibits, multimedia presentations and activities for all ages.

A ship exhibit provides information about the different vessels that carried immigrants across the Atlantic, and a train car exhibit has historical data about those who traveled across the country from Vancouver to Halifax. Canadian visitors are encouraged to add their family's immigration story to the museum's collection.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
