AAA Editor Notes
Nevada State Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St. (US 395), contains rolling stock primarily from the Virginia and Truckee Railroad line. Included are seven restored steam engines. Established in 1869, the line carried ore from the Comstock Lode to the Carson River for 69 of its 81 years of operation. It was later discovered by Hollywood, which used V & T passenger cars, freight cars and vintage engines in films from the late 1930s through the 1950s. One exhibit chronicles railroad communications from the late 1800s to the present.

Rides on the historic trains and a vintage motor car are available on weekends, May through September. A rare McKeen motor car operates during special events.

Time: Allow 45 minutes minimum for museum, 1.5 hours for museum and train ride.
