AAA Editor Notes
Brooklyn Children's Museum, 145 Brooklyn Ave., contains more than 30,000 artifacts in its collection—everything from kachinas (carved Hopi Indian figures) to Pokémon cards to an Asian elephant skeleton. Children learn through touching, entering or interacting with the frequently changing exhibits. Highlights include a freshwater pond with fish and turtles, a saltwater beach with horseshoe crabs and sea stars, a community garden, a greenhouse and a live 20-foot-long albino python.
Renewable materials and eco-friendly features make the expanded facility the city's first “green” museum. Totally Tots is an exhibition designed for children ages 0-5.
Food is available.
