Buffalo AKG Art Museum, just s. of jct. SR 198 at 1285 Elmwood Ave., is a vibrant museum of contemporary and modern art. The museum is housed in two interconnected buildings: Its Greek Revivalist Albright building was completed in 1905, while its modernist Knox addition was completed in 1962. The gallery features works by national and international artists, including Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Helen Frankenthaler, Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol and other modern and contemporary masters.
