AAA Editor Notes
Museum Ships are docked at Pier 16 on the East River at South Street Seaport. Among the five vessels constituting the “Street of Ships” is the 1908 Ambrose lightship, which guided other vessels through the shoal- and sand bar-filled waters of lower New York Bay, and the Wavertree, built in England in 1885 and purportedly the largest sailing ship built of wrought iron. The 1885 Pioneer originally carried cargo along the Delaware River; today her passengers enjoy relaxing 2-hour sailing trips.

Guided tours are available.
