AAA Editor Notes
Rubin Museum of Art is at 150 W. 17th St. at Seventh Ave. This is one of the few museums in the world devoted to the art of the Himalayas and surrounding regions—an area that embraces the countries of Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan as well as parts of China, India and Mongolia.

A comprehensive collection of Himalayan art treasures includes paintings, sculpture, textiles, prints, masks and ritual objects spanning the second through the 20th centuries. Special exhibitions include contemporary art, photography and the history of Himalayan art, while docents and educational resources help visitors understand the religious symbolism incorporated in many of the pieces.

Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
