South Street Seaport Museum is at 12 Fulton St. The South Street Seaport, a 12-block historic district, was a flourishing 17th- and 18th-century port. The museum is an assemblage of landmark buildings and refurbished warehouses connected by cobblestone streets. Also of interest are exhibit galleries; Bowne & Co. Stationers and Bowne Printers, print shops with antique presses; and a lighthouse memorial to the victims of the 1912 Titanic disaster. Visitors can also climb aboard the lightship Ambrose at Pier 16 to see exhibits about navigation and lightships. Excursions aboard Pioneer, a historic schooner, also are available. Seaport walking tours also are offered.
