Niagara Falls History Museum, 1.6 km (1 mi.) from the falls off Hwy. 420 at 5810 Ferry St., is on the site of one of the fiercest battles of the War of 1812, the Battle of Lundy's Lane, fought here July 25, 1814. The museum, within steps of the historic Drummondville Cemetery, contains hands-on exhibits exploring the diverse history of Niagara Falls. The Gale Family War of 1812 Gallery and the Community Gallery are dedicated to the history of the area while the Ontario Power Generation Gallery houses various temporary exhibitions.
