Philipsburg Manor, at 381 N. Broadway (US 9), is an early 18th-century commercial complex that consists of a stone manor house, an operating gristmill, an oak-timbered dam and a barn. Farming, trading and milling operations were carried out by slaves owned by the Philipse family, wealthy Anglo-Dutch merchants. The house is furnished with period artifacts. Costumed guides lead tours and talk about the history of Northern slavery, and a reception center offers exhibits.

Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
