Cuyahoga County Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument

Cuyahoga County Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, 3 Public Sq., has been part of the city since 1894. Built in commemoration of the Civil War, it features numerous sculptures, busts and bronze reliefs as well as a 125-foot spire topped by Liberty. Inside the monument are tablets inscribed with the names of the 9,000 Cuyahoga County residents who served in the Civil War.
