Great Lakes Science Center is at 601 Erieside Ave., between the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and FirstEnergy Stadium. Through hundreds of interactive exhibits, daily science demonstrations, traveling exhibits and educational programs, the center lets visitors explore aeronautics and space exploration, biomedical technology, renewable energy and the Great Lakes.

The NASA Glenn Visitor Center, which focuses on space exploration and the resulting scientific discoveries, features more than 50 exhibits, including a moon rock and the Apollo command module from its 1973 Skylab 3 mission. The center also incorporates the six-story giant-screen Cleveland Clinic Dome Theater. People can make parachutes, a race car and a rocket in the Cleveland Creates Zone maker space and kids under age 8 can play and learn in the Polymer Funhouse. The Steamship William G. Mather is on the grounds as well.

Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
