Carillon Historical Park, at 1000 Carillon Blvd., is part of the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. The 30 structures on the 65-acre campus relate America's development over the past 2 centuries, with emphasis on the contributions made by Dayton's heritage of creativity and invention in transportation. A presentation features animatronic figures representing the Wright brothers, Charles Kettering and two other Dayton industrialists sharing the story of how Dayton changed the world.

The John W. Berry, Sr. Wright Brothers National Museum displays the original 1905 Wright Flyer III, the first practical airplane. Other displays include a 1930s print shop, vintage bicycles, antique automobiles and a 1903 Barney & Smith parlor car. The attraction is also home to the Deeds Carillon, a carousel, a restored canal lock and a 1796 log tavern, purportedly the oldest building in Dayton.

Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
