AAA Editor Notes
Flint Ridge Ancient Quarries and Nature Preserve is at 15300 Flint Ridge Rd. S.E. The site encompasses 533 acres. Trails through the woods overlook pit areas where Native Americans and early settlers once quarried flint. A museum contains a flint pit and traces the mineral from its raw state to its many uses. A paved nature trail also is on the grounds.

Hours
Park areas open daily dawn-dusk. Museum open Sat. 9-5, Sun. 10-5, early May to mid-Oct.
