Fort Meigs is off I-475 exit 2 then n. on SR 65 to 29100 W. River Rd. This is a reconstruction of a fortification built in 1813. The fort played a critical role in safeguarding the Western frontier against British forces in the War of 1812. On 10 acres of land, Fort Meigs contains seven blockhouses with items that illustrate events of the war. Exhibits in the visitor center include artifacts from the War of 1812.
