AAA Editor Notes
Hubbard House Underground Railroad Museum is at jct. Walnut Blvd. and Lake Ave. The 1840s brick house was an important stop on the Underground Railroad, the network of abolitionist-run safe houses that helped slaves escape to freedom before the Civil War. Fugitive slaves waited in the house until a ship arrived to take them to Canada. The house, furnished in period, contains exhibits relating to the Underground Railroad, the Civil War and local history.
