AAA Editor Notes
Lawrence County Museum is at 506 S. 6th St. The museum is housed in a restored 1870 home that was designed to resemble an Italian villa. Elizabeth Gray, granddaughter of abolitionist John Rankin and wife of Civil War Col. George S. Gray, acquired the house in 1878. Several additions were added to the home after the Grays moved in.

Furniture that belonged to Rankin is displayed. Other permanent and rotating exhibits focus on the iron industry and feature vintage clothing and furniture.

Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
