Kent State University Museum is in Rockwell Hall at 515 Hilltop Dr. at jct. E. Main and S. Lincoln sts. This 1927 Beaux-Arts building was the college's first library. Focusing on fashion and decorative arts, the museum houses one of the nation's largest and finest collections of 18th- through 21st-century American and European gowns and traditional dress. Also featured are historic women's periodicals, international textiles, decorative arts, collectible glass and paintings. Eight galleries feature changing exhibitions from a permanent collection of nearly 40,000 pieces.
