AAA Editor Notes
Oklahoma Frontier Drugstore Museum is at 214 W. Oklahoma Ave. Housed within a late 19th-century commercial building, the museum relates frontier pharmacy and drugstore history. Visitors will find collections of old-time remedies; drugstore memorabilia; hair care and beauty supplies from the late 19th and early 20th centuries; mortar and pestles; a leech jar; and “show globes,” decorative glass jars filled with colored water that were common sights in early pharmacy windows.

Though no longer functioning, an old-fashioned soda fountain near the front of the store is a museum highlight. Next to the museum is an apothecary garden planted with medicinal plants.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 30 minutes minimum.
