Tulsa Zoo, 6 mi. n.e. off Sheridan Rd. in Mohawk Park at 6421 E. 36th St. N., houses more than 3,000 animals representing more than 400 species, including many that are rare or endangered. The zoo's 84 acres feature outdoor exhibit areas as well as indoor eco-themed buildings with animals from around the world in habitats similar to their native homes.

The Rainforest exhibit highlights tropical rain forests and includes howler monkeys, reptiles and sloths, among other animals. The Mary K. Chapman Rhino Reserve is a 3-acre habitat housing white rhinoceroses, antelopes and several bird species. A miniature train operates daily, and children can ride in a parade of animal figures on the ARVEST Wildlife Carousel as well as enjoy a playground. Seasonal camel tours, animal chats and demonstrations also are available.

Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
