Oklahoma City Zoo & Botanical Garden, at 2000 Remington Pl., is home to nearly 1,600 animals, including several endangered or threatened species and acres of lush gardens. Great EscApe features gorillas, orangutans and chimpanzees in a rain forest environment. Cat Forest and Lion Overlook are naturalistic habitats for large and small wild cats. The Oklahoma Trails exhibit is home to more than 800 animals native to Oklahoma, including grizzly and black bears, mountain lions, bobcats, alligators and bison. The Elephant Habitat is home to a herd of Asian elephants.

The Children's Zoo is a 2.5-acre exhibit featuring flamingos, goats, monkeys and lorikeets. The sea lion show at the Noble Aquatic Center Performance Arena features sea lions performing in 15- to 20-minute shows. Wild Encounters behind-the-scenes programs take place daily; schedule and fees are posted near the main entrance. Rides are available on the Endangered Species Carousel, Centennial Choo Choo and Elephant Express tram for additional fees.

Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
