Philbrook Museum of Art is at 2727 S. Rockford Rd., 1 blk. e. of Peoria Ave. at 27th Pl. This elaborate Italian Renaissance-style villa set on 25 acres of formal and informal gardens was the palatial home of oilman Waite Phillips and his wife Genevieve. Built in the late 1920s, it now houses permanent collections of African, American, Asian, European, Native American and contemporary art.
Changing exhibitions, lectures, films, performances and special events are scheduled throughout the year.
