Boyd Heritage Museum is on the w. side of the locks at 21 Canal St. E. In the building that formerly housed the M.M. Boyd Lumber Co., the museum displays artifacts and photographs from the 19th-century when the Boyd family was prominent in the lumber industry. In addition to his timber interests, Mossom Boyd also was the founder of the Trent Valley Navigation Co., which operated freight and passenger ships throughout the region.
