AAA Editor Notes
Blockhouse Museum is at jct. St. Lawrence and Main sts. This blockhouse was one of four constructed during the early 19th century to protect lock stations on the Rideau Canal. Originally designed to house 50 soldiers, their arms and ammunition, the blockhouse was later converted for use by the lockmaster and his family. The museum displays military, domestic and agricultural artifacts, many of which come from the families of the area’s early pioneers.
