AAA Editor Notes
Changing of the Guard takes place on the lawns of Parliament Hill. The traditional military ceremony is performed by “ceremonial guards,” assembled from two regiments—the governor-general's Foot Guards and the Canadian Grenadier Guards—along with the regimental band and pipers. The ceremony includes inspection of dress and weapons, the Trooping of the Colors and the exchange of compliments between the old and new guards. After the ceremony, guards execute sentry duties at Rideau Hall.
Daily at 10 a.m., early July-late Aug. Ceremony is suspended in 2022 and is scheduled to return in 2023.
Time: Allow 45 minutes minimum.
