Douglas County Museum of Cultural and Natural History is off I-5 exit 123 to 123 Museum Dr. Exhibits depict the history of the Umpqua Valley, from the Cascade Mountains to the Oregon coast. The museum reputedly has the state's largest display of natural history specimens, dioramas and more than 20,000 historic photographs, all relating to the history, natural environs and growth of Douglas County. Live snakes and turtles native to the region are displayed in their natural habitat. A research library is accessible.
